Press Release

Although SA National Blood Service is currently experiencing a blood shortage, Western Province Blood Transfusion Service (WPBTS) has fortunately remained unaffected by this. We currently have a full five-day stock as is normally required. Despite disruptions caused by power outages across the Region, WPBTS has largely managed to remain operational at clinics and blood banks. Although we previously have had limited back-up power , we have decided to invest in a bigger generator. We need this to be able to continue with production, testing and other activities during an extended power failure.
